Jennifer Lucas, MD

A native of Marin County, Dr. Lucas was thrilled to join MCC in 2000. After gaining experience across the country, she wanted to come home. The qualities of kindness, caring and community she found at MCC made it the right place for her to practice oncology.

Dr. Lucas thinks her connection to the local community fosters a natural rapport and trust with her patients. She believes in partnering with each one of them to determine the best treatment approach that will result in the best possible outcome. The recipient of many professional awards and honors in her field, Dr. Lucas is an active investigator and has participated in over 200 clinical trials.

A gifted athlete who received a full college basketball scholarship, Dr. Lucas feels her time on sports teams taught her how to work well in groups, and overcome challenges and adversity. Putting her passion for physical fitness to good use, she and her colleague, Dr. Head, trekked in Nepal in 2013, hanging prayer flags in honor of their patients and raising $40,000 for breast cancer research.

In her free time, Dr. Lucas likes to cook, eat, travel and play in Marin with her significant other and two sons.
