Barbara Galligan, MD, MPhil

Barbara Galligan MD MPh

Patient-centered care drew Dr. Galligan to MCC, where she is inspired every day by her patients and colleagues.

Prior to medical school, Dr. Galligan worked for 10 years in the tech industry writing content and designing data models and information architecture. She also worked in medical research at the University of California Berkeley and at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in New York. Dr. Galligan’s combination of scientific research and a liberal arts education helps her relate to her patients and learn from her work.

Dr. Galligan grew up in New York and went to college in Chicago. She loves the California coast because it reminds her of Ireland, where she lived for several years. When she’s not working, she likes to read, bike, practice yoga and spend time with family.
